About Prefect’s Internship Program
We are proud to launch Prefect’s first internship program across our engineering and sales organizations. We’re seeking talented individuals who are excited to build and distribute a new generation of data tools. Our interns will always be treated as employees, from the impact opportunities they are given to the compensation they receive.
As a Business Development Rep Intern (BDR), you are the backbone for our sales team for 8-10 weeks over the summer. You’ll be focused on cultivating pre-sales interaction with prospects and identifying new opportunities that fill the sales pipeline. The BDR will be responsible for prospecting new client leads from a cold relationship to a warm one. You will be responsible for driving pipeline through outbound prospecting and following up on marketing leads. You will build a strong relationship with the Account Executives you support and will work closely with them in coordinating strategic campaigns penetrating target accounts.
What you’ll be doing:
Developing a clear understanding of our solution, best practices and competing solutions
Building prospecting lists based off targeted accounts through collaboration with your Account Executives
Generating leads - engaging and advising prospective clients
Articulating the value of Prefect to prospective clients
Helping bring in new business to Prefect, achieving monthly activity and pipeline goals
Establishing a winning culture
Qualifications (you must have):
Excellent organizational and communication skills
Ambitious, motivated and competitive
Genuine curiosity in people, markets, technology, and business landscapes, with excellent researching skills, listening skills, and a desire to learn and understand why our products are some of the most innovative on the market and can help with so many business challenges.
Strong listening skills and the ability to effectively communicate with senior management and C-level executives
Strong work ethic, high energy, and a team player is required
About you (we’d like you to have):
Be enrolled in an academic program such as a Bachelor’s degree
Experience in inside sales, business development in SaaS environment
Experience in SaaS sales cycles
Experience in a start-up or high-growth environment
Understanding of Salesforce.com CRM, G-Suite and
