Open Source Community Engineer

Prefect is an equal-opportunity employer. Members of under-represented groups are encouraged to apply!
Are you looking for an incredible opportunity to work with a high-growth SaaS company? Our workflow orchestration platform bridges the gap between data engineers and data scientists, allowing them to do what they do best. We are looking for enthusiastic new additions to our team who are excited by the question “what will you build?”
We love and invest in OSS development. From the start of our company we have focused on building and maintaining a healthy and respectful open source community that can reach us and each other through multiple channels. These channels include Slack, Github, StackOverflow, and social media.
As an Open Source Community Engineer at Prefect, you will be responsible for growing our community and nurturing an “always be nice”, collaborative environment. We pride ourselves on our ability to respond quickly to our active community, and it’s continued growth- but this needs to scale. As a technically minded person in this role, you will be ready and eager to work directly with the Prefect engineering team to support the topics and conversations. In addition, one of your main priorities will be to find new and innovative ways to help the community to support itself.
Our community is active 24/7. With this in mind, you will be an enabler to encourage community members to contribute and support other members.
Prefect is used and adopted by users who run the spectrum from beginner to expert. We love to hear from all of them. We want to know our product is flexible and extensible for our expert users and at the same time we want to know our beginners feel encouraged and see as few roadblocks as possible. You will develop strategies to welcome and engage new members and new users and listen and respond to their use cases.
You will share and promote contributions from our community, including speaker events, blog posts, and projects.
You will love to use and build with Prefect too!
