Prefect’s commercial product revenue is rapidly growing alongside our thriving open-source community. We are looking for a Director of Finance to strategically unite product and finance, effectively use our Series B capital to meet business objectives, and build Prefect’s finance function for the next phase of growth.
You will report to our COO, and partner closely with product, sales, and people ops.
Expectations (you will):
Own financial planning and strategic use of funds
Advise on impacts of introducing new products and business lines
Highlight and advise on revenue growth opportunities with Sales and Product
Identify financial North Stars in line with business strategy, and be responsible for ensuring results are obtained
Develop dashboards with our data team to track key revenue and profitability metrics; drive board presentation preparation
Be a thought partner to Head of Growth on pricing strategy, and identify opportunities for improvement
Revenue and cash flow forecasting; development of departmental budgets
Oversee fin ops and controller functions, working closely with our Sr Fin Ops Analyst. Build upon existing financial operations processes to streamline reporting, A/P, A/R
Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual close, flagging trends, variances, and risks
Develop appropriate rev rec system
Capital requirements, banking relationships
Qualifications (you must have):
Ability and desire to roll up your sleeves
First principles thinking
Strong analytical and quantitative skills, and excellent judgement
Ability to determine what needs to be done and execute
The ability to effectively communicate with the team, senior management, and C-level executives
Strong work ethic, high energy, and a team player
Ability to identify and solve the right problems
