Since the release of Prefect 3.0 ten months ago, our open-source adoption has exploded, growing nearly 500% from 300K to 1.8M downloads per week. This unprecedented growth has revealed a clear need: teams scaling beyond personal projects need accessible options between our Hobby tier and Enterprise offerings. Today, we're introducing two new self-serve plans, Starter and Team, designed to grow alongside our burgeoning community.
Many smaller organizations told us that directly jumping from our Hobby tier to an Enterprise plan felt like too big a leap. They needed a middle option—something affordable yet robust enough for real production workflows. Our new Starter and Team plans are here to bridge that gap, giving you the best of Prefect without a large up-front commitment.

Many orchestration platforms charge per successful task, run or “action”, which can push teams into awkward tradeoffs—like bundling multiple steps into a single task or even failing tasks intentionally to dodge usage fees. We want you to break down and parallelize tasks however you need to build resilient pipelines, without worrying about inflating your bill. With seat-based pricing, your costs stay predictable, and you're free to ship.
Alongside these new plans, we're also launching Prefect Serverless—our fully managed compute platform. Every Prefect Cloud plan includes execution credits for Serverless usage, consumed only during actual runtime. Our Hobby tier uses Serverless exclusively, while Starter and Team plans let you choose between Serverless, your own infrastructure, or a hybrid approach.
