Built In today announced that Prefect was honored in its 2022 Best Places to Work Awards
. We’ve earned a place on the list of 100 Best Remote-First Companies and we’re thrilled at the recognition, but we can’t say we’re all that surprised—remote work is something we’re obsessed with getting right, and something we think about every single day.
“At Prefect we’re passionate about offering our team the kind of flexibility and support they need to do their best work from anywhere,” says our CEO, Jeremiah Lowin. “We love the freedom it gives us to source talent from across the country and the globe, so we can find the best fits for each and every role, and we make a point to build a strong culture that empowers the team and maintain those connections in new ways; it’s important to us to be just as deliberate in building our team and company as we are about building our product.”
Built In determines the winners of Best Places to Work based on an algorithm, using company data about compensation, benefits, and companywide programming. To reflect the benefits candidates are searching for more frequently on Built In, the program also weighs criteria like remote and flexible work opportunities, programs for DEI, and other people-first cultural offerings.
“It is my honor to extend congratulations to the 2022 Best Places to Work winners,” says Sheridan Orr, Chief Marketing Officer, Built In. “This year saw a record number of entrants—and the past two years fundamentally changed what tech professionals want from work. These honorees have risen to the challenge, evolving to deliver employee experiences that provide the meaning and purpose today’s tech professionals seek.”
Our culture is no accident. Almost a year ago now, COO Sarah Moses wrote about building a high-performing culture
including our vision, mission, and standards. “We trust our team to solve problems and execute,” she writes, “and the team trusts the company in turn to support them in their personal and professional endeavors.”
What does that support look like? To start, our onboarding process is robust and unparalleled in its detail, and demonstrates the company’s investment in each of us. By the time I came through my onboarding, I not only had a clear understanding of the company, its products, and the people who make up the team; I also had the feeling that after this company invested so much time in equipping me to succeed, I’d better get to work! A lot is given to us, and a lot is expected in return. It’s a special kind of environment that not everybody is cut out for, but when it works, it’s an incredible thing to be a part of.
And just take a look at some of our benefits and perks
. Remote-first culture, unlimited PTO, stipends for a home office setup and daily lunches, and $1000 per year for personal and professional development are just the tip of the iceberg.
That’s right, I said daily lunches. Historically a perk offered by cool foosball table and beanbag chair Silicon Valley offices and reserved for in-office workers, we’ve brought free lunch remote.
There’s also great health insurance, a 401(k) with company match, and lots more.
